The Jersey, eating a little more than half as much as other breeds, such as the Holstein, produces only 15 to 18% less milk than them. Currently it is said to be the cow of the future.
More dairy products are obtained from 100 liters of Jersey milk than from 100 liters of other breeds.
The Jersey adapts very well to heat and altitude. On the “Porcón” farm in Cajamarca, they are raised at 3,700 meters above sea level. It is said that “they make you pregnant even by looking at them.”
Their hooves are black, very strong and they have almost no problems during childbirth.
